baby talk
One of T's classmates gained a new sister recently. Most of T's classmates have siblings so the words sister and brother have been thrown around a lot lately. T is very interested in knowing if brother's are boys or girls, and was pleased with himself when he was right about it. Conversations at the house about siblings, babies, mama's milk, bellies have abounded through all of this in part as T asks questions about others and in part since his birthday we have been talking about what it was like when he was a baby.
Several weeks ago T didn't want to be left in his room 'cause he didn't want to be all lonely. Last week he told B that I should get a baby in my belly. They apparently had a long discussion about where babies come from. T told me that he wanted to be a big brother. Today at the farmer's market out of the blue in the dairy section T says, "We have to get something for the baby. The baby needs something - there is going to be a baby isn't there?" Then tonight when we snuggling before bed he told me we should get a baby. "What if it want's to play with your toys?"I asked. "I will share them. She can sleep in my bed. I will keep her warm when she gets into her pj's."
I think T would make a great big brother.
