Party Preparations
T’s second birthday is next Tuesday! Two on Tuesday!
This birthday celebration will be quite different than birthday number one where no family could join us, and we had an actual party with goodies gifts and entertainment. We will be with family and I’m looking forward to it.
But, in celebration of being two, and well, just because, we are also having a little “party” at T’s school with his classmates on Friday.
I don’t know why, but it made me happy the other day to order the cupcakes for the school party. Exciting. I had wanted to make the cupcakes, but school rules are no home baked items – must be professionally done. While I could have gotten some cupcakes from Publix, ordering from a bakery (no offense to the folks in the Publix bakery) seemed closer to home made, or more special somehow.
You’ll remember from this post that T and I tried two different bakeries and several flavors. I went with the one that is closest to T’s school, that makes mini cupcakes, and is less expensive. I popped for them delivering to the school so I don’t have to worry about carting around three dozen cupcakes and so they will be super fresh (made that morning.) Not that the 1 and 2 year olds will probably notice, but…
Three dozen lemon sunshine mini cupcakes with multi-colored star sprinkles (yum) will arrive around 3pm. I’ll bring vanilla ice cream cups, yellow napkins, and green plates. We have animal utensils from the school, and after the kids eat, but before they head to the playground, we’ll read a few of T’s favorite books. I hope he has fun!
